New Years Eve Party

For New Year's Eve we went to Lila's house.  Amelia's friend Allie was also there and it was fun to have a small party with all of the pregnant women and husbands.

The girls had so much fun playing together.  They spent quite a bit of time in Lila's room singing their own made up songs.  For some reason Amelia attached herself to Allie's dad and would bring him toys and go to him for a hug when she was upset.  Eventually Allie attached herself to Lucas in the same way!

The more I thought about it though, throughout all of our Christmas festivities and visiting Amelia attached herself to someone who wasn't mommy or daddy.  At Papa John's house it was Jeremy and Mary Beth.  At Papa and Sissy's house it was first my Uncle Bob, then my Uncle Tony, and finally her Uncle TB.  At Kait's house it was Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Mary Beth again.  It will be interesting to see if she keeps this up after Sprout is born or just really needs mommy and daddy again.

For Christmas at Kait's house we thought we'd try to get a picture of all of the cousins together.  

Do you notice someone missing?

Here she is pulling her usual tantrum.  It's almost as if she thinks closing her eyes will make unwanted situations disappear.  Her other favorite tantrum is to throw herself completely flat with her face buried into the floor

This was the closest we could get to a picture with everyone in it.  Oh well, maybe next year will be better.

Christmas at Papa & Sissy's

By the time we got to Christmas day Amelia was a pro at opening presents.  

Amelia got a new bitty baby and a Curious George blanket that have been added to her stash of items that need to sleep with her at night.

Here Amelia is sporting a knit hat that Sissy made for her.  She absolutely loves her hat and usually insists that Mommy and Daddy also wear a hat or scarf when leaving the house.

Amelia is still pretty obsessed with pretties.  She has worn the frog bracelet almost everyday since we got it. She has also been asking me to put clips in her hair and tolerating headbands more often.  

At our playdate the week of Christmas us pregnant mommies had one of the dads take our picture.  We are all due within the last two weeks of January so we are all about 35 weeks here.  

Amelia's Room

I finally took some pictures of Amelia's new room.  

Here is her big girl bed with butterfly quilt that Mommy made for her.

One corner of the room.  I'm hoping to eventually find a bookcase to put in this corner.

Amelia's fish, Gus, and snails.  She loves having a fish and it is her job to help feed them every night.  Lately I've been trying to do it myself because it's getting harder for me to pick her up but usually she ends up getting mad at me for doing that.

Broom

We bought Amelia a regular broom and Lucas shortened the handle.  So now when I'm in the kitchen I'm usually tripping over Amelia sweeping for me.

It's funny how excited she is to help me clean.  I love my little helper!

Christmas at Papa John's

While waiting to leave home to go to Papa John's house for Christmas Amelia had to hop on the horsey for a little bit.  

We received this horsey as a hand me down and I was going to take it to Kait since I didn't feel like we have room for it here.  Well Amelia has become attached to it so it has to stay at our house for awhile longer.  

Sprout and Mommy at 34 weeks.

This was our first Christmas for the year so Amelia really enjoyed opening up presents.  She got a toy that plays music, which she loves to dance to, a tea set which has become the absolute favorite toy at our house, and clothes, which she always loves.

In fact when I woke her up that morning she said "ooo, Mamma pretty!"  and I asked her if she wanted to be pretty and pulled out her dress.  I actually got hugs and kisses for having such a pretty dress for her to wear.

Amelia had fun playing with the cousins that she doesn't get to normally see.  She was also very good with baby Elise.  While Elise was on the floor stretching out Amelia went to give her hugs and kisses.  She tickled Elise's toes, gave her tummy raspberries, and said peace be with you while shaking Elise's hand.  It was too cute!
