Random May

Here are my good helpers making a smoothie.

I tried putting Amelia in undies for a couple of afternoons.  She wasn't really interested in trying the potty full time so we'll try again in a month.  These afternoons have gotten her talking and thinking about the potty and undies quite a bit though so we've had progress.

Amelia enjoying her "tordilla."  Also anytime I take Evelyn's picture and not hers she'll say, "Mama, CHEESE!" until I take her picture too.

Us girls hanging resting one afternoon.

Hands and Rolling

Evelyn has discovered her hands the past few weeks.  Nothing is safe anymore!  I can't hold her and be trying to do anything without her little hand reaching out and grabbing for it.  Her favorite is trying to grab our food at the dinner table.

She has also started rolling over.  Anytime I set her down she almost immediately rolls to her tummy and screams until I flip her back over.  Today she finally rolled from her tummy to her back so hopefully I won't have to come to rescue her so much.

She's also starting to sleep longer and longer at night and we've had three all night stretches so far.  Those nights have made one happy well rested mama in the morning.

More Fun at Sissy's

With all of the nice weather we've been having the past month all of the kids have been enjoying the outdoors at Sissy's house on Wednesdays.  The boys like to play catch or toss a homemade Frisbee.

The girls have been playing with sidewalk chalk.

They've also been using lots and lots of bubbles.  Amelia has figured out how to blow bubbles and use the large wands this year so bubbles have become her activity of choice when we go outside.

The Piggy Store

Amelia loves the piggy store, or Famous Dave's as the rest of the world knows it.  I'm not sure why but she has started favoring pigs lately and gets excited when she finds one.  We went out for a fun dinner to Famous Dave's and she couldn't believe it.  There are pigs everywhere in the restaurant.  Evelyn also enjoyed how silly we were being that night.

Amelia said thank you to the waiter so he ended up bringing her two packages of oreo cookies.  Maybe that's why she like it so much?  Whenever we drive by she gets so excited she has to point out the piggy store.

Evelyn's Earrings

We went to get Evelyn's ears pierced at the beginning of May.  Sissy took Amelia while Kallie came with me to be my assistant and camera crew.

I was nervous because Evelyn is a more sensitive baby than Amelia and I figured she would cry until she was nursed.  She ended up falling asleep in the car and went back to sleep after I transitioned her into the sling.  She even stayed asleep when I took her out of the sling and turned her around so the lady could mark her ears.

She definitely woke up for the piercing part.  I know it looks like I'm strangling her but she was actually sucking on my thumb.

But as soon as I got her up to my shoulder and said one shhhh she stopped crying.  I was amazed!  She actually cried less than Amelia did and I never would have thought that was possible.

Here she is with her pretty ears.

Random April

At one point while giving each of the girls their baths I realized that Evelyn's tub would fit into the bathtub with Amelia still in the tub.  This is awesome to get them bathed at the same time!  They also love playing with each other.

Here are the girl's wearing their Easter dresses.  Amelia is going through a phase now where if she isn't in the mood for a picture she will not smile.

The whole family coloring.

Amelia got this Curious George balloon from a friend for her birthday.  Did you know balloons are awesome?

Evelyn was so excited that Amelia would share with her.

My Drama Queen

Amelia can be such a drama queen!

Here she is pouting because she doesn't want me to take her picture.

When she doesn't want to do something she'll say it went bye-bye.  "Would you like to read a book?" "Oh, book went bye-bye."  Recently she has changed this saying to "it's too big."  For the same question her response would be, "the book is too big."  She'll also use the word don't quite a bit.  One night Papa asked her if she was tired and her response was "I don't tired!"  Her other favorite way to express her independence is by saying, "Mama, I don't listen."

She can also be quite the softy sweetheart with lots of I love yous, hugs, and blowing kisses.  She always asks if we can "go, go, go on an adventure?" (We got that from Cat in the Hat) When she gets really excited she'll say "let's go find it!"  I've also caught her some mornings singing a made up song about mommy, daddy, Amelia, pup pup, and Evelyn.  She loves her family so much!

Easter

Easter day was an event this year!  We did our usual egg hunt.  Uncle Jeremy helped Amelia find her eggs which made her super happy.

Here are Dominic and Athena looking for their eggs.

The whole gang.

What's that?  I have more eggs to find?

Amelia understood this year that each egg had candy in it so she was willing to go to great lengths to get her eggs.

Evelyn was happy to snuggle mommy and get a quick nap.

We also celebrated Amelia and Athena's birthdays.  Aunt Kait made special chocolate covered strawberry cupcakes and the birthday girls got double decker cupcakes.

Amelia wasn't sure how to go about eating such a big cupcake.  She decided to just dive right in and forget trying to use her fingers.

Elise discovered sunglasses that day and thought they were pretty awesome!

Evelyn

Here are some things I printed and framed for Evelyn's room.

While making the footprint butterflies, Amelia was kept entertained by painting a butterfly for her room.

And here's our announcement.
