Accessorize

Amelia still loves her pretties and any kind of accessory she can get her hands on.  Her favorites include rain boots, rain coat, hats, sunglasses, headbands and necklaces.  She also loves it when her clothing has flowers on them or when she matches baby sister.

Swaddle

I think part of the key to getting Evelyn into a nice sleep where she lets me put her in her crib is the swaddle.  Unfortunately for me Daddy hasn't been able to master the swaddle yet.  We're trying to teach him.

Wednesday at Sissy's

Every Wednesday we go to Sissy's house for dinner since she picks up most of the grandkids after school.  It is so much fun to see everyone each week.

Of course Amelia likes to copy Kirsten the most and must have and do everything Kirsten does.

Evelyn loves all of the attention from everyone.  Kole and Zach actually fight over who is able to keep her calm and happy better.

So Tired

Our Evelyn who has such a hard time falling asleep actually fell asleep this way one night.  She fights sleep so badly we were completely shocked that she fell asleep upright plus let Daddy walk around without waking up.

Hanging Out

Just a regular night, hanging out while wearing your rain boots because you never know when it will rain!

Amelia got these rain boots for her birthday and she wears them all of the time.  I think part of it is because she can put them on by herself.  She doesn't always get them on the right foot but it helps when I tell her to put the Zebras on the outside.

 Evelyn blowing bubbles.

Daddy started blowing bubbles too and Amelia had to pop them.  What a good time!

Evelyn 3 months

The first three months of Evelyn's life were hard.  I was constantly sick and she was not a happy baby.  She decided she hated pacifiers and only slept if I was laying next to her.  Once we went to the chiropractor things began to turn around.  I finally stopped getting sick (a round of antibiotics helped with that.)  Evelyn started smiling.

She started watching the world around her more and was very interested in anything she saw.  In fact now she is usually either smiling or having this serious concentrating look on her face.

Nursing got easier and she began to nurse not quite as long at each session.  In fact, during the day I'm now dealing with a baby who is distractable and can't seem to concentrate on eating for more than 10 minutes.  She's let us give her a bottle with no problems nursing from mommy after that, which is a big relief for me!

She also started sleeping more.  It first started with a couple of half hour naps on the couch.  I was able to carefully pull the boppy pillow away from myself and put another pillow in my place.  Then one late afternoon she slept for three hours that way.  I couldn't believe it and had to keep checking on her!  After that things kept getting better and better with her letting me put her in the crib and she's down to only waking one or two times during the night.

She loves to stand and sit in the bumbo chair.  She coos, screeches, blows bubbles, and acts like she's having a conversation with you.  My sweet little Evelyn has quite the personality at this point and reminds me so much of her sister, but has her own little quirks.  I can already tell she will not be hanging out in the background but will be under her sister's toes as soon as she can possibly move on her own.

Random March

Here are some random March pictures.

Evelyn practicing her standing.  She must always be standing, sitting, or nursing.  She hates reclining or laying down.
 My drama queen.
 Tummy time!
We met Papa John for breakfast one Saturday morning and Evelyn was more than happy to snuggle.

Sling

I loved the Moby Wrap with Amelia and I really tried to use it with Evelyn, but she did not like it.  I had the sling waiting in the wings for when she was older and had better head control and luckily for me she has had pretty good head control from the start.  So I've been using the sling with Evelyn and she has learned to love that one.

One day when getting ready to go to the store Amelia wanted to wear Pup Pup in her sling just like Mommy wears Evelyn.  It was so much fun to have her that excited to wear Pup Pup.  The only thing is she thinks it is called a swing and tries to swing him while he is in it, which doesn't work to well.

Best Friends

I can already tell that these two are going to be best friends.  Not only do they interact with each other all of the time, but Amelia insists on getting a kiss and hug from Evelyn the first moment she sees her every morning.  It is the sweetest thing!

Balloons

Evelyn already likes balloons as much as her sister.  Amelia would stand by Evelyn and throw a balloon around and could keep her entertained for a half hour.

Amelia's Birthday

Amelia got to have many different celebrations for her birthday this year.

First we had a party with her girlfriends.  We tried to make cupcakes to bring but they did not cook right so I let her pick some out from Cubs.  Of course she went for the neon frosted ones.  The frosting stained her face and hands.

 Evelyn ready to party.

After school Sissy and Kallie stopped over to sing Happy Birthday and she got to eat another neon cupcake.

Later that week we had a party at Sissy's house with the Kleinschmidt side.

Evelyn loved being held by everyone, especially great grandma.

The theme of the party was Curious George.  Complete with some of her favorite things, balloons, temporary tattoos, and George himself sat on her cake.

 Can almost taste the cake.

 Hugs from her friend, Bien.
"Delicious!"
She received many cute outfits with accessories to match and was in heaven!

Sissy also made her this doll sling which she wasn't sure about at the party but ended up loving once we were home.

Bed and Butterflies

When I posted pictures of Amelia's room one of my aunts commented on how small Amelia looked on the bed.  After thinking about it I realized that her bed looked so big because it didn't have any of her snuggle buddies on it for the picture.  Here is what her bed looks like every night when she goes to sleep.

I also saw this really neat butterfly wall on Pinterest and had to try it in Amelia's room.

The day I put them up she kept jumping on the bed and saying I can't reach the butterflies!  I tried to explain that was the point but she was too excited to listen.  This addition to her room has made her become more obsessed with butterflies.
